The official CA Independiente PRO Third Kit for the collectors
Argentinian giants Independiente have paid tribute to their Scottish roots with a popular third kit that features a huge saltire across the chest. Los Diablos Rojos are one of the most successful teams in Argentina, with 16 top-flight titles to their name and seven Copa Libertadores – the most won by a club in South America. They’re also a club with Scottish roots thanks to pioneer Alexander Watson Hutton.
Hutton founded the first Argentine football league, the first champions of which were St. Andrew’s Athletic Club, founded by expats from Scotland. St Andrew’s won the title in the 1891 season and when Independiente were founded in 1905 they adopted the colours of the Scots team.
This is a PRO Jersey, which means it’s the same the players wore on the pitch. There are just a few sizes available of this collectors item.
